Courtesy Line Field in Release Info

The courtesy line is an optional metadata field that allows release owners to include a customized rights or attribution statement. Unlike the formal © (Copyright) and ℗ (Phonographic Copyright) lines, the courtesy line offers more flexibility in wording for display purposes.

Using the Courtesy Line

A dedicated text box for entering the courtesy line is now available in the Copyrights section of the product form.

  • This field is optional.
  • It is delivered only to DSPs that support DDEX ERN 4.0 or higher.
  • Currently, this includes Spotify.

Display on DSPs

On Spotify, the courtesy line appears on the product page:

  • Below the Original Release Date
  • Above the © and ℗ lines
